If the Kalskag Grizzly Bears were riding high off their 52-24 takedown of the Tuluksak Wolverines on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kalskag fell just short of Akiachak by a score of 34-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kalskag in their matchups with Akiachak: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Grizzly Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elizabeth Levi, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Maria Kameroff, who scored six points.
Kalskag now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Akiachak, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Kalskag does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Akiachak and Aniak will face off at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Aniak will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
