Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wellsville). They blew past the Iola Mustangs 80-49 on Friday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 27 point advantage.

Iola lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cortland Carson, who posted 15 points. The matchup was Carson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Dougherty, who scored eight points and seven rebounds.

Wellsville's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Iola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Wellsville has already played their next game (against Augusta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Iola will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Fe Trail on January 30th.
