The Lane Tech Champions will head out on the road to  square off against  the Barrington Fillies/Broncos  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Lane Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6  runs per game  this season.
Lane Tech barely beat Elk Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Champions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Grenadiers  a   13-0 shutout  on Friday. Lane Tech got a great performance from  Sofia Stronsky as she  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave  Stronsky a new career-high in  strikeouts (four).
 At the plate,  Gianna Phillips was a standout: she scored two  runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Hannah Roeder, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 Lane Tech  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elk Grove only posted  an  OBP of  .333.
 Meanwhile, Barrington entered their tilt with Taft on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of  8-5.
 Barrington pushed their record up to 5-1 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lane Tech,  with the  victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.
 Lane Tech might still be hurting after the  11-1 loss they got from Barrington  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Can the Champions avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
