It was a good run, but the Loyd Star Hornets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 73-62 to Bogue Chitto. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Loyd Star in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.
Nathan Mills and Colby Terrell certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Mills scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, while Terrell dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Caden Yarborough was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Loyd Star's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Bogue Chitto, their win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1.
Loyd Star won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Bogue Chitto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
