Baseball Recap: Ridge Community Victorious

While Ridge Community's victory against Discovery wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ridge Community Bolts had just enough and edged out the Discovery Spartans 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bolts have posted since April 23, 2024.

Edger Olmeda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Deniel Serrano was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Edwin Castaneda was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Ridge Community now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Discovery, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Ridge Community will challenge Celebration at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Discovery, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Haines City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Haines City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something Discovery will no doubt try to take advantage of.
