The Summit SkyHawks will face off against the Colton Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Summit's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Carter. The SkyHawks haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ciarah De Angelis made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. De Angelis was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Isabella Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday Colton's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Kaiser. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since February 21, 2025.
ANDREA VARELA spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, MADDY SOLIS was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of DESIREE ARMENTA, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Colton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matchups.
The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Colton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
Summit got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 against Colton by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the SkyHawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
