Basketball Recap: Newton-Conover's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newton-Conover extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Braxton Eckard. The Newton-Conover Red Devils secured a 60-56 W over the East Burke Cavaliers on Tuesday thanks in part to Eckard, who went 10 for 22 on his way to 32 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Newton-Conover's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-4. As for East Burke, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Newton-Conover will head out to challenge West Lincoln at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newton-Conover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season. As for East Burke, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-51 victory against Bunker Hill on the 8th.
