The Catoosa Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Skiatook, falling 63-20. Catoosa was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-7.
Despite the defeat, Catoosa saw an underclassman step up: Jacquelyn Cornwell scored eight points along with two steals.
Catoosa's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Skiatook, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catoosa won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wagoner at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Wagoner presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Catoosa in Oklahoma (Wagoner is ranked 65th, while Catoosa is ranked 406th). Skiatook on the road again on Thursday and play against Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st.
