Eastern has gone a perfect 6-0 against Trimble recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Tomcats at 5:00 p.m. Eastern has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Eastern is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Warren on Friday. They lost 11-1 to the Warriors.
Eastern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie White 2027, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Trimble waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tomcats, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Trimble let Ava Richards and Alyvia Portier run wild. Richards went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and four runs, while Portier went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five stolen bases gave Richards a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Patton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Trimble was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Trimble's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Eastern, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Eastern has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Trimble struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastern got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 9th against Trimble by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
