The Harrison Central Red Rebels waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They blew past Gulfport 66-44. Given Harrison Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Gulfport is ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aujaylen Barron was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with four steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Murray, who scored 16 points along with four blocks and three steals.
Harrison Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Gulfport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
