4A District 4 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Deonte Garner of Doss ran for the longest rushing play in 4A District 4 this season against Moore last week. Garner's team bested the Mustangs as he sprinted for 90 yards on the play and finished with 103 in all.
Doss was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in the league. Lakunta Farmer's team defeated Moore 40-20 earlier in the week.
Doss' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Devonta Moffitt has thrown for 543 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Dajzon Dukes has 26 catches for 374 yards. James Yarbrough leads the league in rushing with 889 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 4 this week will be when Fairdale takes on Valley. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in fifth, while the Vikings are in third.
The Dragons led the league in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Eric Dick's team. Moffitt threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
