Timothy Talley of Rivercrest ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Region 3 this season against Hoxie last week. Talley ran for 51 yards on the play and finished with 56 on the day as his team defeated the Mustangs.
Rivercrest's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Phillip Porter threw for 67 yards and Greg Winford had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Porter chipped in 134 yards. Kani Turner helped Rivercrest's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Rivercrest's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Colts feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Porter has thrown for 308 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Turner has nine catches for 157 yards. Porter also leads the league in rushing with 332 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Kelly Chandler's team takes on Corning. The Colts are in first place, while the Bobcats are in fourth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Piggott takes on Osceola. The Mohawks have allowed 72 points this season, while the Seminoles have given up 71.
Corning made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,199 from 8,628. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 36-6 victory over Manila last week.
