It was a good run, but The Newark Memorial Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arroyo. Newark Memorial was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Arroyo apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Gabriel Flores was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Newark Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Arroyo, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5.
Newark Memorial will take on Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arroyo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
