After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against West Port, Sickles was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Blake Yellow Jackets  an   18-0 shutout. The Gryphons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six  runs or more this season.
 Zoe Mello and  Taylor Morrissey were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Mello   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Morrissey   pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Mello  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances, while  Morrissey  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more,  Morrissey posted two  RBI, the most she's  had since back in March.
 In other batting news, Sickles got a  massive  performance out of  Kalyssa Austin, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3. Austin is  on a roll when it comes to  hits, as she's  now  got three or more in each of the last four games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Paula Pumarejo, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 Sickles  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post two or more  strikeouts.
Sickles moved to 7-13 with that  victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Blake,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sickles will welcome Alonso  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Blake, they will host Leto  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
