After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Taconic Hills brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They never let the Cairo-Durham Mustangs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Wednesday. With that win, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Kaylin Brazie made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Taconic Hills got a massive performance out of Mia Shumpsky, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Shumpsky a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Bleau, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Taconic Hills' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-5. As for Cairo-Durham, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
