Chadwick Ward was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Clarksburg: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Hollingshead, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Clarksburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.
Greenfield pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clarksburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
Clarksburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greenfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Clarksburg, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Greenfield's hitters?
Greenfield took their win against Clarksburg in their previous meeting on Thursday by a conclusive 18-3 score. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
