After two games on the road, Taylorsville is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Taylorsville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Olympus.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Marlee Reupena, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals. She scored a full 27.3% of Taylorsville's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aysha Salami, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Brighton faced Bingham in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Brighton's rough 75-50 defeat to Bingham on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brighton in their matchups with Bingham: they've now lost seven in a row.
Taylorsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Brighton, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
Taylorsville strolled past Brighton when the teams last played back in February of 2017 by a score of 49-34. Will Taylorsville repeat their success, or does Brighton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
