Baseball Recap: Bishop Carroll Has No Trouble Against Glendale

Bishop Carroll barely beat Glendale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 22-7 margin over the Vikings on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bishop Carroll let Preston Gillin and Patrick Phillips run wild. Gillin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Phillips went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Gillin has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethan Holtz, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Bishop Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Glendale, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Carroll will challenge Bishop McCort at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crushers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.17 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Glendale, they will take on Ferndale at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
