Softball Recap: Milford Finds Home Field Redemption Against Anderson

There's no place like home for Milford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Anderson Raptors on Friday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Ella Stein was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Maddie Varner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Milford's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Anderson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Anderson will challenge Mercy McAuley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Milford will be paying especially close attention to the Raptors' game: after the Raptors face off against the Wolves, they'll take on Milford again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
