The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears lost against the Immanuel Eagles back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Sierra Pacific fell 58-51 to Immanuel. While losing is never fun, Sierra Pacific can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Immanuel is ranked 142nd).
Several Golden Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landyn Haener, who scored 7 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Parry, who scored 8 points.
Sierra Pacific's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Immanuel, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra Pacific will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Whitney at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. As for Immanuel, they will head out on the road to face off against Dinuba at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Dinuba's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
