The Slidell Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Northshore Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Slidell is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
On Tuesday, Slidell strolled past Fontainebleau with points to spare, taking the game 66-50. Given Slidell's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Fontainebleau is ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaden Hookfin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Bonnaffons, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northshore scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 71-50 margin over Covington.
Slidell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 24-10 record this season. As for Northshore, the win got them back to even at 13-13.
Slidell came out on top in a nail-biter against Northshore in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 63-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slidell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
