Leading Roanoke Rapids to victory were Kayla Whitfield and Shaniah Daniels. Whitfield dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Daniels dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Daniels set a new season high mark in steals with eight. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Bednarczyk, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
KIPP P bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Roanoke Rapids, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP P will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Wilson Prep is ranked 574th, while KIPP P is ranked 591st).
