Despite the defeat, Greenbrier Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Katelyn Balka dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Balka is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kaylee Harmon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Even though they lost, Greenbrier Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, StoneBridge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hampton Christian Academy on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 32-28 victory.
Greenbrier Christian Academy better focus on containing Claire Bruseke and Sarah Busby as the pair were huge in StoneBridge's win. Bruseke posted ten points and six steals, while Busby earned eight points and three steals. Those six steals gave Bruseke a new career-high.
Greenbrier Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for StoneBridge, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
