The Calumet Christian Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 74-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calumet New Tech. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Calumet Christian still got an impressive performance from Brad Nymeyer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Isaac Wahl was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Calumet Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calumet New Tech only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Calumet New Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Hudson, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. It was the first time this season that Hudson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Allen, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Calumet Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Calumet New Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.
Calumet Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Red Ramblers at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Calumet New Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Illiana Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
