The Warren County Screaming Devils came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 49-43 W over Greene County. Given Warren County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Greene County is ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Warren County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Saniya Tolbert out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Tolbert pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alecia Tucker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Warren County's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Greene County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Warren County will be home for the holidays to greet Treutlen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greene County and Georgia Military College will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Georgia Military College comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
