Legacy Charter will square off against First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Legacy Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Legacy Charter and Central Florida Christian Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Legacy Charter put the hurt on Central Florida Christian Academy with a sharp 18-1 win on Monday. Legacy Charter hasn't had any issues with Central Florida Christian Academy recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
James Hodge was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Legacy Charter: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 3-8 otherwise. Hodge was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kevin Barnard, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Legacy Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, First Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 16-1 to The Villages Charter.
First Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Bell, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Bell has hit this season.
First Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Legacy Charter, the win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 5-9.
First Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Legacy Charter has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. It's a different story for First Academy, though, as they've only averaged .338. Will they be able to contain Legacy Charter's hitters?
Legacy Charter couldn't quite get it done against First Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as they fell 12-7. Can Legacy Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
