The Sacred Heart of Jesus Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-45 walloping at the hands of Middleton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sacred Heart of Jesus has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middleton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taquinis Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mitchell scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Woody, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Sacred Heart of Jesus has fallen quite a ways from their 26-7 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Middleton, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Sacred Heart of Jesus will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Madison at 6:00 p.m. Madison is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Middleton, they will head out on the road to face off against McNairy Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. McNairy Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Middleton is ranked 107th).
