Bellflower came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt  a  48-13 defeat at the hands of the Gahr Gladiators. The Buccaneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  28-7.
 Despite the  loss, Bellflower saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Austin Miller rushed for 105 yards and two  touchdowns on only 14 carries. Miller didn't just play on offense: he also picked up  a  sack and made four total tackles.
  Roman Acosta was a one-man wrecking crew For Gahr. as he threw for 135 yards and a pair of  TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one  score. Acosta's passing game has become a key predictor of the Gladiators' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.  Jaidyn Backus was another key player, gaining 89 total yards and a touchdown.
Bellflower's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Gahr,  the  victory  got them back to even at 3-3.
