Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Oakland-Craig Knights proved on Friday. They managed a 49-45 win over West Point-Beemer. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oakland-Craig.
Oakland-Craig's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Briar Ray, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Pelan, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
West Point-Beemer's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie Kaup, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Campbell Snodgrass who scored 17 points. That was a full 37.8% of West Point-Beemer's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mia Hunke, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Oakland-Craig's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for West Point-Beemer, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.
Oakland-Craig does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Point-Beemer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Point-Beemer is facing Wayne at the right time seeing as Wayne is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
