Meanwhile, Seymour was beaten by Heritage 75-44 on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Seymour in their matchups with Heritage: they've now lost five in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Cameron Soulages, who scored 21 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was David Canterbury, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Seymour struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Cocke County's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Seymour, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Cocke County have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Seymour struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
