It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-28, which was the final score in Lamar's tilt against Rossville Christian Academy on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Lamar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 187th in Mississippi, while Rossville Christian Academy is ranked 35th in Tennessee).
When it comes to explaining why Lamar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jonathan Hart. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Whitcomb, who scored seven points.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Rossville Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rossville Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Simpson Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. Simpson Academy will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Rossville Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
