After a string of three wins, the Kokomo Wildkats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tippecanoe Valley.
Despite the loss, Kokomo had strong showings from Aijia Elliott, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Regan McClain, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Tippecanoe Valley was led to victory by Kelsey Cox and Ava Egolf. Cox scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Egolf scored 14 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Smith, who scored seven points.
Kokomo's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kokomo will take on Muncie Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Muncie Central has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wawasee at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Wawasee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday.
