The Faith Christian Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wadley Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Wadley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Faith Christian, who comes in off a win.
Even though Faith Christian has not done well against the Wildcats recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Faith Christian managed a 64-60 win over the Wildcats. The victory was all the more spectacular given Faith Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 114th).
Meanwhile, Wadley ended up a good deal behind the Hornets on Thursday and lost 70-51.
Despite the defeat, Wadley saw an underclassman step up: Frisco Robertson scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Robertson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquez Wilkes, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Faith Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-16. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Wadley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Faith Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in January, winning 51-39. Will Faith Christian repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
