The Larimore Polar Bears lost against the Midway/Minto Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Larimore received a tough blow as they fell 59-42 to Midway/Minto. Larimore has not had much luck with Midway/Minto recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Larimore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Avery Gratton. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Myers, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Larimore bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Midway/Minto, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Larimore will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Richland at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Midway/Minto, they will face off against Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
