The Hughson Huskies will face off against the Atwater Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Hughson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Patterson on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 11-1. The Huskies have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Hughson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Carne 2028, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Atwater had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Wolves.
Kylie Medina was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Medina was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Madi Hiler was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Audrina Granados was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Atwater hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livingston struck out nine times.
Atwater pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Hughson, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
Hughson came out on top in a nail-biter against Atwater when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Hughson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Atwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
