The West Prairie Cyclones's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Knoxville by a score of 59-52. For West Prairie, this counts as revenge for the 68-60 loss Knoxville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2021.
West Prairie was led to victory by Cole Cordell and Braden Coplan. Cordell scored 15 points, while Coplan scored 20 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Coplan has scored at least 25% of West Prairie's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli DeCounter, who scored 8 points.
West Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Knoxville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] the next time they take the court. West Prairie will head out to face Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Knoxville will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
