Even though the Hortonville Polar Bears scored an imposing 66 points on Thursday, the Appleton North Lightning still came out on top. Appleton North walked away with a 79-66 win over Hortonville. That's another feather in the cap for Appleton North, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Hortonville still got an impressive performance from Riley Mueller, who scored 19 points. Mueller scored a full 28.8% of Hortonville's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Appleton North's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hortonville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appleton North will take on Appleton West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hortonville, they will be playing at home against Green Bay Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
