KINGSTON, Wash. - Special teams carried
Kingston (Wash.) to a 52-7 victory over Sequim (Wash.) on Saturday as the return units contributed two touchdowns. The special teams of the Buccaneers scored on two punt returns.
After taking the lead on a punt return touchdown by
Aaron Dickson in the first quarter, Kingston led 45-0 at the half.
KHS put up 31 points in the second quarter en route to the win. The Buccaneers scored on a punt return touchdown by
Bob Reece, a Reece touchdown pass to
Nathan Carleton, a
Nick Tabanera touchdown run and a touchdown run by Dickson in the quarter.
Reece stood out for Kingston in the win. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Sequim's only touchdown came on a 42-yard run by Ty Jones in the third quarter.
KHS went into the matchup giving up only 17.2 points per game. The seven points that the Wolves ended with were well below their average of 15.0 coming into the game.
In a 2A Olympic game next week Kingston (5-1) takes on Bremerton, and Sequim (0-6) will go up against Klahowya also in a 2A Olympic game.
