Baseball Recap: McCallie Takes a Loss

McCallie lost against Cleveland back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. McCallie took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cleveland.

McCallie got a good showing from Nathan Eastman, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Eastman has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kelby Barnett was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double. Hamilton Downs also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

McCallie's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cleveland, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Coincidentally, McCallie and Cleveland will both be playing Ooltewah the next time they take the field. McCallie will host Ooltewah at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, while Cleveland will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
