The Xenia Buccaneers were the 52-34 winner over the Troy Trojans when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Xenia was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 36-35 to Troy.
Troy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Simone Adekoya, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adekoya has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kiyah Baker, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Xenia's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Troy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Xenia will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Butler at 7:15 p.m. Butler's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Xenia's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to take on Stebbins at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Stebbins will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
