Baseball Recap: Bishop Stang Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bishop Stang put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Nauset Regional Warriors. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.

Ethan Cleveland looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Stang let Matt Burt and Drew Taylor run wild. Burt scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Taylor went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brock Winslow, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Bishop Stang always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bishop Stang pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Bishop Stang will host Cardinal Spellman at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nauset Regional, they will venture away from home to square off against Fairhaven at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
