The Rochester Warriors will challenge the Kalama Chinooks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Rochester and Tenino have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Rochester put the hurt on Tenino with a sharp 21-2 victory. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Layna Demers made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Demers was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Cheyenne Justice was a standout: she scored four runs while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 runs per game. Charlie Culp was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Rochester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Kalama put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Fort Vancouver as Kalama made off with an 11-2 win. 11 seems to be a good number for the Chinooks as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Delaney Rinard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brookelyn Waddle, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colbie Manninen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Kalama's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rochester, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rochester hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .453. However, it's not like Kalama struggles in that department as they've averaged .414. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
