The Ellsworth Lancers lost against the Alanson Vikings back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Ellsworth was outmatched by Alanson at home and fell 71-39. Ellsworth was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Ellsworth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Patrick Puroll, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Puroll has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler DeYoung, who scored six points along with two steals.
Ellsworth's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Alanson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ellsworth will take on Traverse City Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ellsworth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Alanson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor Light Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
