The Wilmington Wildcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 45-24 margin over Coal City. This was payback for Wilmington, who suffered a 75-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Reid Juster was his usual excellent self, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Castle, who scored ten points.
Wilmington now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Coal City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Wilmington will head out on the road to face off against Lisle at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Lisle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Coal City will be home for the holidays to greet Herscher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Herscher is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
