Pearce entered their tilt with Nimitz with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pearce strolled past Nimitz with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-37. Given Pearce's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Nimitz is ranked 886th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Irving can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 53-49 W over Berkner.
Irving's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taliah Martin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Arely Estrada, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 2 assists.
Pearce's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Irving, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.
