The Gunter Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lone Oak 75-0 at home. Fans of Gunter have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Gunter can attribute much of their success to Dylan Tokarz, who rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Tokarz's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Another player making a difference was Easton Overman, who rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
Gunter's victory was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Lone Oak, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Gunter will take on Leonard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Leonard's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. As for Lone Oak, they will be playing at home against Bells at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bells presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lone Oak in Texas (Bells is ranked 284th, while Lone Oak is ranked 767th).
