If the Palmerton Blue Bombers were riding high off their 73-44 takedown of the Moravian Academy Lions last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Palmerton took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saucon Valley on Saturday. Palmerton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Saucon Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Saucon Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Grim out in front who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Weiss, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Palmerton's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Saucon Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmerton will square off against Palisades at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Palisades is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Saucon Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Northern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
