3A District 2 recap October 8, 2013
Trinity Catholic took down Maclay 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. London Gaskin ran for 113 yards and caught 4 passes for 76 yards during the win.
Micah Mirino was a key player and the best on defense this week as Father Lopez beat P.K. Yonge. He recorded 1 fumble.
Joe Boden was a beast in the backfield as the Green Wave bested the Blue Wave.
Boden was a passing and rushing force as Father Lopez topped P.K. Yonge. He completed 11 passes for 145 yards and also ran for 221 yards. Boden's key target this week was Ryan Mowen, who caught 7 passes for 111 yards.
Mowen was the best receiver in 3A District 2 this week as Jason Dunlap's team topped Kent Johnson's team. Mowen racked up 7 receptions for 111 yards. Brant Williams helped Father Lopez's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 60 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Celtics' Reid Carlton and Rudi Outar have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Carlton has thrown for 889 yards this season, while Outar has 17 catches for 278 yards. The Blue Wave's Anthony Andrews leads the league in rushing yards with 537.
The Green Wave led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on P.K. Yonge. Boden ran for 221 yards in the win.
