Elkhart took a 68-53 bruising from the Trojans on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elkhart in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.
Stanton County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gerardo Robles out in front who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robles has scored all season. Juan Aleman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Elkhart dropped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Stanton County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Elkhart will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Syracuse has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Stanton County, they and the Mustangs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
