On Friday, the West Haven Blue Devils faced the Cheshire Rams in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Haven came out on top against Cheshire by a score of 25-14. The victory was nothing new for West Haven as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Haven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camren Kemp, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. West Haven also got help from Armani Reid who showed off his sure hands for 102 receiving yards.
West Haven pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Newtown and 8-1 Staples (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.2% over those games). As for Cheshire, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Haven will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Notre Dame at 3:50 p.m. on November 22nd. After each having a week off, Cheshire and Southington will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
